Medieval Times

Our notes cover everything between the Fall of Rome and the Renaissance. Everything you need to know about Castles, the Feudal System, Knights and Serfs and the Black Death, while removing all the fluff.

Know your Middle Ages inside out and be ready to maximise those results in the Junior Cycle Exams.

WW2

This is a very lengthy unit, which comes up almost every year. The exam gives an option between World War 1 or World War 2. We recommend the Second World War as there is more to talk about, in terms of new technologies and key battles.

Our notes easily break down this unit into clear and simple causes, course and consequences, filtering down the important information so as not to get distracted by needless facts.

Irish Nationalism

This is one of the largest topics on the Junior Cycle History course. Our notes cover everything from the 1798 Rebellion and Theobald Wolf Tone all the way through to the resolution of the Troubles in 1998.

With structured notes giving only the key points you need to know, you will know 200 years of Irish history inside out and be ready for the exams in June.

Sub topics included:

American Revolution

One of the two options for a world revolution that needs to be studied for the Junior Cycle Exams. Our comprehensive notes cover everything you need to know while avoiding all the superfluous information.

Know all the causes, the significant battles and the consequences that stemmed as a result of this revolution which would go on to inspire all the others.

The Renaissance, Age of Exploration and Reformation

Although distinct topics, they are intertwined in history as each one had an impact on the other. These topics are almost guaranteed to come up on the exam in one way or the other and it is imperative to know them off by heart.

Our notes will help you do just that, covering over a century of events, that shaped Europe into the way it is today, freeing it from the Dark Ages

The Cold War and the 1960s

The 1960s was an important decade in world history that defined the world. It was the advent of new technologies and social change, but it was also the setting of the Cold War, which almost started World War 3.

An often overlooked part of the course, this section really is easy marks as compared to many other topics in Junior Cycle History there is little theory to learn. Maximise your marks on these 2 topics with our thorough notes.

Topics covered include:

  • The Cold War - Causes, Berlin Blockade, Korean War, Cuban Missile Crisis and the Vietnam War
  • 1960s Around the World - The Space Race, Civil Rights Movement and Youth Culture
